Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support a K-2 intervention specialist caseload in a K-12 public school setting. This contract position runs through the current school year with a start date as soon as possible, lasting until May 29.

Responsibilities include managing a cross-categorical resource room where students spend most of the day, with occasional time spent outside the room for specials. The classroom primarily serves students with autism and developmental disabilities. Collaboration with at least one paraprofessional will be integral to daily operations. Key duties involve lesson planning, writing and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring student progress, preparing quarterly reports, and conducting IEP meetings.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Certification and experience in special education, preferably working with K-2 students
• Knowledge and skills related to autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities
• Ability to develop and implement individualized lesson plans
• Experience creating, managing, and reporting on IEPs in compliance with educational regulations
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with paraprofessionals and conducting meetings

Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:20 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
