Position Summary:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our esteemed partner medical facility in Las Vegas, NV . The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of light interventional radiology procedures, conducting image-guided biopsies, and performing/interpreting fluoroscopy studies, all while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform light interventional radiology (IR) procedures under appropriate physician supervision, including but not limited to:
  • PICC line placements and removals.
  • Implantable port placements and removals.
• Conduct image-guided procedures such as:
  • Bone marrow biopsies.
  • Thyroid biopsies.
• Perform and interpret various image-guided fluoroscopy procedures.
• Work collaboratively and effectively with interventional radiologists, administrative staff, technical teams (radiology assistants, technologists), and referring physicians to ensure comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
• Assist in patient assessment, developing care plans, pre-procedure workup, obtaining informed consent, and post-procedure management as appropriate within the scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation for all procedures and patient encounters.
• Adhere to all established safety protocols, radiation safety standards (ALARA), sterile techniques, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
• Certification: Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Licensure: Must possess a current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of Nevada.
• Prescriptive Authority: Must hold active prescriptive authority privileges in Nevada and a current DEA license.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1+) year of related clinical experience in interventional radiology, performing fluoroscopy procedures, or within diagnostic imaging is required.
• Life Support: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in performing the interventional procedures and biopsies outlined.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, fluoroscopic procedures, and radiological principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the healthcare team and clear patient interaction.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-based, technologically advanced environment.
