Responsible for creating and posting content for various Corporate Communications and Marketing projects, including articles, press releases, websites, social media, and blogs, while collaborating closely with team members throughout these activities. Ensures website content is up to date, supports search engine optimization (SEO) efforts, and assists with proofreading and editing materials. Also helps with corporate events and trade shows as needed. Prepares meeting agendas and minutes, and tracks action items.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. For the first few months, the employee will work in the office several days a week to support onboarding and collaboration. Afterward, the role can be primarily remote, with approximately monthly in-office attendance for key meetings and events. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance of Johnstown to accommodate in-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researches, writes, and publishes content for internal and external communications including articles, press releases, websites, social media, and blogs.
  • Proofreads and edits documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Helps maintain the company's brand identity by ensuring consistency across communications.
  • Collaborates with team members to update and manage content on SharePoint sites, Teams sites, and the intranet.
  • Assists with social media strategies to enhance company presence.
  • Contributes to press conference planning, logistics, and media coordination.
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships with internal teams and external audiences.
  • Assists with document review and approval processes under guidance.
  • Supports search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.
  • Helps with corporate events and trade shows as needed.
  • Prepares meeting agendas and minutes, and tracks action items.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional writing or corporate communications experience.
  • Proven experience writing for multiple channels (web, print, email, social media).
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and keyword optimization.
  • Proficiency with content management systems.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, design, and executive teams.
  • Knowledge of AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other editorial style guides.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging copy.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of writing samples, including corporate or brand-focused work.
