The Manager of Compensation is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of Family Dollar’s broad-based compensation programs. This role will lead a team responsible for supporting the compensation programs for our Supply Chain organization including nine Distribution Centers located throughout the U.S.
• Manage the Company’s compensation programs, including base pay and short-term and long-term incentive plans
• Lead a team of Compensation professionals supporting our Distribution Centers
• Lead the participation and analysis of external salary surveys and market pricing of roles to ensure our programs are competitive
• Responsible for maintaining and updating the Company’s salary structures based on external survey analysis
• Work with business partners to evaluate the compensation of new and existing roles and creating job descriptions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs and make recommendations for enhancements that deliver on Family Dollar’s commitment to pay for performance
• Collaborate with all areas of the business to assist with the design, implementation, and communication of incentive plans that reward associates for delivering desired business results
• Manage the Company’s incentive calculation system (Varicent ICM) and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Manage the relationship with third-party administrator and broker for LTI plans
• Support all compensation components of the annual performance process, including, merit planning, bonus administration, and administration of LTI awards for all associates
• Create compensation education materials to increase associate understanding and engagement
• Participate in special projects related to compensation programs or systems on an as-needed basis
• Ensure all programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local legislation
• Compensation experience in a retail or Supply Chain organization preferred
• Experience with retail or sales compensation preferred
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS / BFA) or equivalent
3 to 5 years' experience in Compensation
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Showcase Query (SQL); Incentive Compensation Management tools (Varicent)
Prior Management experience
