Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized and meticulous Accountant to join our team in Sonoma County, California. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring efficient transaction processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and a commitment to upholding internal controls and best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process and record accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, corporate credit cards, and intercompany transactions in a timely manner.
• Conduct thorough account analysis and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain up-to-date and precise financial records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and avoiding errors such as duplicate or mis-coded payments.
• Utilize software tools, including Excel and Yardi, to produce accurate and relevant financial reports.
• Document accounting procedures and maintain strong internal controls to support best practices.
• Monitor and record real estate development costs, as well as track revenues and expenses from grants, donations, and contributions.
• Assist with the preparation of periodic and one-time financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Support the annual financial statement audit process by providing accurate data and documentation.
• Build strong relationships with vendors and other stakeholders through clear and effective communication.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on property accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in Yardi software for financial management tasks.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and general ledger processes.
• Proven ability to manage month-end close activities efficiently and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors, team members, and external stakeholders.
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field
